Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtportHome

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.2.2.1.2.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The value of nwAtportHome indicates whether or not the AppleTalk Routing Services-enabled device, the routing entity, is `homed' on the port for which the entry exists. If the entity is homed on the port, then it could perform NBP (Name Binding Protocol) registrations for services that it chooses to advertise.

What is nwAtportHome?

This read-only INTEGER (home/notHome) indicates whether the AppleTalk routing entity is 'homed' on a specific port, and per its description, being homed means the router could perform NBP name registrations for services it advertises on that port. An administrator checks it to understand where the router presents itself as a first-class AppleTalk citizen versus merely routing traffic through. Seeing nwAtportHome report notHome(2) on a port would explain why AppleTalk clients on that segment can't discover services the router itself might otherwise advertise there.
