nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS

Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Sets the administrative state of the AppleTalk routing protocol on the router port for which the entry exists. Enabled (3) causes the routing protocol to become active on the router port. Disabled (2) causes it to become inactive.

What is nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS?

This read-write INTEGER (other/disabled/enabled) sets the administrative state of the AppleTalk routing protocol on a specific router port, with enabled(3) activating route exchange on that port and disabled(2) turning it off there. An administrator uses it to stop route advertisements on one port, such as a stub link with no other AppleTalk routers, while keeping the protocol active elsewhere. Setting nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS to disabled(2) on a port facing only end-user AppleTalk devices avoids wasting bandwidth on route announcements that no neighboring router needs.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoIfAdminSTATUS.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.2.1.1.1.2.1 i <value>
