nwAtProtoCtrReset

Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoCtrReset

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.1.2.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Resets the aggregate (system-wide) AppleTalk distance-vector based routing protocol packet and byte counters. Reset (2) resets the AppleTalk aggregate counters to 0. nwAtProtoCtrOperationalTime is also reset to 0.

What is nwAtProtoCtrReset?

This read-write INTEGER (other/reset) zeroes the aggregate, system-wide AppleTalk routing-protocol packet and byte counters, and reset(2) also resets nwAtProtoCtrOperationalTime to 0. An administrator uses it to get a clean baseline before measuring routing-protocol overhead over a defined interval. Resetting nwAtProtoCtrReset right before a scheduled network change lets staff measure exactly how much extra route-update traffic the change generates afterward.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.1.2.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoCtrReset

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.1.2.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoCtrReset.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.1.2.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> nwAtProtoCtrReset.1
