nwAtProtoAdminSTATUS

Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtProtoAdminSTATUS

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.4.1.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Sets the administrative state of the AppleTalk distance-vector based routing protocol system-wide. Enabled (3) causes the routing protocol to become active on all router ports configured and enabled for AppleTalk Routing Services. Disabled (2) causes the routing protocol to become inactive.

What is nwAtProtoAdminSTATUS?

This read-write INTEGER (other/disabled/enabled) sets the administrative state of the AppleTalk distance-vector routing protocol system-wide, with enabled(3) activating it on every configured and AppleTalk-enabled port and disabled(2) shutting it off entirely. An administrator uses it to control whether route exchange happens at all, independent of whether basic AppleTalk forwarding is enabled. Setting nwAtProtoAdminSTATUS to disabled(2) on a router intended to be a static, non-routing AppleTalk endpoint prevents it from exchanging route information with neighbors.
