nwAtHostCtlSnooping
Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB
OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtHostCtlSnooping
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.6.2.1.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Controls AARP Snooping on the router port for which the entry exists. Given the AARP protocol is enabled, setting nwAtHostCtlIfSnooping to enabled (3) turns on AARP Snooping. When AARP Snooping is enabled the source AppleTalk and physical addresses of all AARP packets received on the router port are added to the AARP Table.
What is nwAtHostCtlSnooping?
This read-write INTEGER (other/disable/enable) controls AARP Snooping on a router port; when enabled with the AARP protocol active, the source AppleTalk and physical addresses of all AARP packets seen on that port get added to the AARP table. An administrator enables it to build up address mappings passively from observed traffic rather than only through the router's own resolution requests. Enabling nwAtHostCtlSnooping on a busy client-facing port lets the router populate its AARP table quickly by watching the AARP traffic already flowing between end devices there.
