Description: Indicates the maximum number of entry slots the AARP cache can consist of. nwAtHostCtlCacheMax cannot be set to less than 16. Setting this value does not allocate any memory for the cache.
What is nwAtHostCtlCacheMax?
This read-write INTEGER sets the maximum number of entry slots the AARP cache on a router port can hold, cannot be set below 16, and per its description does not itself allocate any memory for the cache. An administrator raises it on a port serving many AppleTalk end devices to avoid premature cache eviction. Raising nwAtHostCtlCacheMax on a port connecting to a large AppleTalk lab full of workstations prevents the cache from having to evict entries just because too many devices are active at once.
