nwAtHostCtlAdminSTATUS

Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtHostCtlAdminSTATUS

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.6.2.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Sets the administrative state of the AARP cache on the router port for which the entry exists. Enabled (3) causes AARP caching to become active. Disabled (2) causes AARP caching to perform a graceful shutdown.

What is nwAtHostCtlAdminSTATUS?

This read-write INTEGER (other/disable/enable) sets the administrative state of the AARP cache on a specific router port, with enable(3) activating caching there and disable(2) triggering a graceful shutdown of caching on that port. An administrator uses it to control address-resolution caching per port, for example disabling it on a port where stale AARP entries have caused delivery problems. Setting nwAtHostCtlAdminSTATUS to disable(2) on a problem port forces the router to stop relying on cached AppleTalk-to-hardware address mappings there, falling back to fresh resolution.
