What is nwAtFwdIfMtu?
This read-write INTEGER specifies the maximum transmission unit for AppleTalk packets on a specific router port, covering the AppleTalk header and data but excluding link framing overhead. An administrator adjusts it to match the AppleTalk MTU capabilities of the attached network segment, such as a LocalTalk versus EtherTalk link. Lowering nwAtFwdIfMtu on a port connected to a LocalTalk segment prevents the router from sending AppleTalk packets too large for that slower medium to carry.
