nwAtEventFltrAction

Module: CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-AppleTalk-ROUTER-MIB::nwAtEventFltrAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.4.2.10.2.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies how the events are to be logged. Logging to the `log' stores the events in the event log table (nwIpEventFltrAction). Logging to `trap' sends events out through the trap mechanism.

What is nwAtEventFltrAction?

This read-write enumerated value determines whether a matching AppleTalk event is written to the on-device event log table, sent out as an SNMP trap, or both (log-trap). An admin who wants proactive alerting instead of just passive log review would set this to trap or log-trap so that matching events immediately notify a management station rather than sitting unread in the log table. For example, setting this field to log-trap for a filter watching RTMP failures ensures both a historical record in the event log and an immediate SNMP trap to the NOC when a route flap occurs.
