Module: CTRON-APPN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-APPN-MIB::nwAppnSysIsrUpperThresh

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The thresholds control the congestion status of APPN routing services. If the number of ISR sessions exceeds the upper threshold, congestion status changes from uncongested to congested. When this occurs, the status will not become uncongested until the the number of ISR sessions fall below the lower threshold. The lower threshold should be less than the upper threshold to prevent thrashing. The upper threshold should be lower than nwAppnSysMaxIsrSessions. This must be a non-negative number.

What is nwAppnSysIsrUpperThresh?

This read-write integer (1-65535) is the ISR session count above which APPN Routing Services flips its congestion status from uncongested to congested. Once congestion is signaled, the router can throttle or reject new intermediate sessions until load drops, so this threshold is a key overload-protection knob. An admin seeing intermediate-session congestion trigger too early might raise this threshold to allow more headroom before the router reacts.
