Description: Specifies the destination address of the adjacent link station depending on the media type. For token ring or ethernet ports, the information is the 6 byte Destination MAC Address which starts in byte 1 and ends in byte 6. For token ring ports, the MAC address must be specified in non-canonical format. For ethernet ports the MAC address must be specified in canonical format. For frame relay, the address is a non-null terminated string which is the ascii representation of the DLCI.

What is nwAppnFwdLsDestAddr?

This read-write octet string (1-32 bytes) specifies the destination address of the adjacent link station, formatted per media type - a 6-byte MAC address, non-canonical for token ring or canonical for ethernet. An admin sets this to the far-end device's actual hardware address so the router knows precisely where to direct link-activation attempts. An admin configuring a LAN-attached link to a specific remote router would enter that router's Ethernet MAC address here.
