Description: Specifies whether or not the adjacent node is a back level LEN Node. If so, specify the type of back level LEN node as follows:
xid3(2) - supports XID-3 protocols, but does not include Network Name control vector in the XID.
xid0(3) - Supports XID-0 protocols. Not valid if nwAppnExtIfLocalLsRole is negotiable(1).
noxid(4) - Does not support XID protocols. Valid only if nwAppnExtIfPortType is nonswitched(1) and not valid if nwAppnExtIfLocalLsRole is negotiable(1).
If not no(1), then nwAppnFwdLsAdjCpName and nwAppnFwdLsIdNum must be specified.
What is nwAppnFwdLsBackLvlLenEN?
This read-write enumeration specifies whether the adjacent node on this link is a back-level LEN node, and if so which XID type it uses: xid3(2) supports XID-3 without a Network Name control vector, xid0(3) supports XID-0 protocols (invalid if the local role is negotiable), or noxid(4). An admin sets this only when connecting to older LEN-node equipment that can't fully participate in modern APPN topology exchange, so the router knows to adjust its handshake accordingly. An admin linking to a legacy device that only supports XID-0 would set this to xid0(3), provided the local link role isn't configured as negotiable.
