Module: CTRON-APPN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-APPN-MIB::nwAppnFwdLsAdjCpName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.5.2.2.3.1.1.1.7

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the fully-qualified, 17 byte long, adjacent Control Point name. The name format is NNNNNNNN.CCCCCCCC where NNNNNNNN is the network identifier and CCCCCCCC is the Control Point name. Valid characters to make up these two strings are uppercase letters A through Z, numerics 0 through 9, and the special characters $, # and @. The first character of the name must NOT be numeric. Each string must be a maximum length of 8 characters with no embedded spaces and the strings are joined by a dot.

What is nwAppnFwdLsAdjCpName?

This read-write string (3-17 characters) specifies the fully-qualified, 17-byte NETID.CPNAME of the adjacent Control Point at the far end of this link. Configuring this correctly is essential for XID exchange and topology database updates to correctly identify the neighboring node. An admin defining a link to a partner site's router would set this to that router's fully qualified CP name, e.g. USIBM.RTRBR12.
