nwAppnEventFltrControl

Module: CTRON-APPN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-APPN-MIB::nwAppnEventFltrControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.2.2.2.3.5.2.10.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this field to delete will allow entries to be removed from the table. This is done by adding new entries with instance fields that match the entry to be removed from the table. The new entry being added must have this control field set to delete in order for the matching entry already in the table to be deleted. Setting this field to add will add the entry to the table.

What is nwAppnEventFltrControl?

This read-write INTEGER (other/delete/add) manages entries in the APPN event filter table: setting it to add(3) creates a new filter entry, while setting it to delete(2) on a matching new entry removes an existing one from the table. An administrator uses it to build up or prune the set of rules that decide which APPN events get logged. To retire an old filter rule that's no longer needed, an operator would submit a matching entry with nwAppnEventFltrControl set to delete(2).
