Description: Current Alias Table state.
notStarted(1) indicates the agent has not completed any required start up routines and therefore the ctAliasTable and ctAliasControlTable are not currently valid.
ready(2) indicates that the agent has completed all initialization procedures and that the alias MIB is running properly.
full(3) indicates that due to memory restrictions on the agent, the ctaliasTable has reached the maximum number of entries possible.
NOTE: If an agent is using a circular queue design, then the state of full(3) will never be set.
What is ctAliasTableStatsState?
This enumerated status reports the overall health of the alias subsystem: notStarted(1) if the agent hasn't finished initializing it, ready(2) if it's running normally, or full(3) if memory limits have been reached. An admin should check this before trusting any alias table data, since a notStarted or full state means entries may be missing or new discoveries are being dropped. For example, if ctAliasTableStatsState reports full(3), the admin knows the device has run out of memory for new alias entries and older or less-active ones may need to be purged.
