ctAliasProtocolAddressIsActive

Module: CTRON-ALIAS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-ALIAS-MIB::ctAliasProtocolAddressIsActive

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.3.7.1.1.6.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-only

Description: The status of this entry.

A true(1) value indicates the alias is active.

A false(2) value indicates an entry which has been marked inactive by network management, using the ctAliasEntryStatus object in the ctAliasControlTable.

Entries which have been marked inactive may remain in the table to allow consistent mappings between network management stations until an agent needs to free resources.

What is ctAliasProtocolAddressIsActive?

This TruthValue reports whether the alias entry found by looking up a known protocol address is currently active or was marked inactive by network management. It lets an admin querying by address directly confirm whether that mapping still reflects a live host rather than a stale, retained record. For example, an admin checking a flagged IP address in this table and seeing ctAliasProtocolAddressIsActive as false knows that address's binding is no longer considered current.
