ctAliasConfigurationProtocolEnableState

Module: CTRON-ALIAS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-ALIAS-MIB::ctAliasConfigurationProtocolEnableState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.3.7.1.1.4.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CabletronProtocolBits

Access: read-write

Description: A bit field of the protocol types where a set indicates the detection of that protocol is enabled. A bit position with a cleared bit indicates detection of that protocol is not enabled.

What is ctAliasConfigurationProtocolEnableState?

This bit-field value controls, per protocol, whether the alias-discovery agent is actively watching for and recording that protocol's addresses, with a set bit meaning detection is enabled for that protocol. An admin can narrow discovery to only the protocols relevant to their network, cutting down on unnecessary alias-table churn from protocols they don't care about. For example, an admin only interested in IP hosts could clear the bits for other legacy Cabletron protocol types in ctAliasConfigurationProtocolEnableState to stop the table from filling with irrelevant entries.
