ctDiscoveryControlIndex

Module: CTRMONXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRMONXT-MIB::ctDiscoveryControlIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.3.2.20.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: An index that uniquely identifies an entry in the ctDiscoveryControl table. Each entry identifies a function that will discover relationships between MAC and Network layer addresses on a particular interface and of a particular protocol. Information about these relationships will be placed in the ctDiscoveryMediaToNetTable and the ctDiscoveryNetToMedia table.

What is ctDiscoveryControlIndex?

This read-only integer (1..65535) uniquely identifies an entry in the discovery control table, where each entry defines a function that discovers MAC-to-network-address relationships on a particular interface and protocol, with results stored in the MediaToNet and NetToMedia tables. An admin uses this index to reference and manage a specific discovery job. For example, an admin creates a ctDiscoveryControl entry with index 1 to start discovering MAC-to-IP address relationships on a specific monitored interface.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.3.2.20.2.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTRMONXT-MIB::ctDiscoveryControlIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.3.2.20.2.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTRMONXT-MIB::ctDiscoveryControlIndex.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ctDiscoveryControlIndex.1
