ctATMPhyRedundPerformTest

Module: CTATM-CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATM-CONFIG-MIB::ctATMPhyRedundPerformTest

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.2.10.1.2.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: If this object is set to enable, then the automatic test (at the time given by ctATMPhyRedundTestTOD) is enabled. The test is periodic with a period of 24 hours.

If this object is set to disable, then the automatic test is disabled. However, one can still test the ports by setting this object to immediate.

If this object is set to immediate it will cause a test for validity of each redundant port for this interface to be performed immediately.

The result of the test shall be available by reading the object ctATMPhyRedundTestResult.

This object is persistent. However, the special value immediate is not persistent.

What is ctATMPhyRedundPerformTest?

This read-write INTEGER, enable, disable, or immediate, controls a periodic 24-hour port-validity test scheduled at ctATMPhyRedundTestTOD when enabled, turns off periodic testing when disabled, or triggers a one-time test right away when set to immediate. An admin uses immediate to force an on-demand validity check of redundant ports outside the normal schedule. For example, setting this to immediate(3) right after physically reseating a backup port lets the admin confirm it now tests as good without waiting for the next scheduled daily test.
