What is ctDs0ifNumber?

This read-only INTEGER reports the total number of network interfaces present on the system regardless of their current up/down state. An admin uses it as a sanity check on how many interface rows to expect in the accompanying interface table. For example, if this value reads 24 but a management tool only enumerates 20 rows in the table, the admin knows four interfaces are missing from the poll and should investigate.
