Description: The desired state of the subsystem. The testing(3) state indicates that no operational functions can be passed. When a managed system initializes, all subsystems start with ctDARegistryAdminStatus in the up(1) state. As a result of either explicit management action or per configuration information retained by the managed system, ctDARegistryAdminStatus is then changed to either the dowm(2) or testing(3) states (or remains in the up(1) state).
What is ctDARegistryAdminStatus?
This read-write up/down/testing INTEGER is the desired administrative state for a registered subsystem; every subsystem starts in the up(1) state at device initialization and can later be changed via management action or retained configuration. An admin uses this to deliberately take a specific subsystem offline or into test mode without rebooting the whole device. For example, setting this object to down(2) for a diagnostic subsystem would administratively disable it while leaving all other registered subsystems running.
