platformReset

Module: CRI-SERVER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CRI-SERVER-MIB::platformReset

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.34.2.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This member resets the platform.

What is platformReset?

This read-write INTEGER, with reset(1) as its only defined value, resets the entire platform when written. An administrator uses this as a last-resort remote recovery action for the whole Starfire system rather than resetting individual boards. For example, writing reset(1) here would be reserved for a scenario where the platform is unresponsive at a level no single-board or domain reset could fix.
