Module: CPS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPS-MIB::upsAdvanceTestRuntimeEstimation

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3808.1.1.1.7.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: UPS will discharge to calibrate the UPS runtime when the variable is set to performEstimation(2). This test runs until the UPS is in a low battery condition. UPS will cancel the discharge after setting performEstimation(2) when the variable is set to cancelCurrentEstimation(3). It is no effective to set this value to noPerformEstimation(1). The result of the runtime test will be stored in upsAdvanceTestEstimationResults.

What is upsAdvanceTestRuntimeEstimation?

This read-write enumerated value, when set to performEstimation, makes the UPS discharge its battery to calibrate an accurate runtime estimate, running until a low-battery condition is reached; setting it to cancelCurrentEstimation aborts an estimation already in progress. An admin uses this when they need a more accurate runtime figure than the default estimate and are willing to accept a real, controlled discharge test to get it. For example, an admin sets this to performEstimation(2) during a low-usage maintenance window, accepting the temporary battery drain in exchange for a more accurate runtime figure afterward.
