upsTopoUnitNumber

Module: CPQPOWER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQPOWER-MIB::upsTopoUnitNumber

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.165.3.11.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Identifies which unit and what type of data is being reported. A value of 0 means that this MIB information comes from the top-level system view (eg, manifold module or system bypass cabinet reporting total system output). Standalone units also use a value of 0, since they are the 'full system' view. A value of 1 or higher indicates the number of the module in the system which is reporting only its own data in the HP MIB objects.

What is upsTopoUnitNumber?

This value identifies which physical unit is reporting and what scope of data it represents: 0 means the top-level system view (such as a manifold module, system bypass cabinet, or a standalone unit reporting as the full system), while 1 or higher identifies an individual module reporting only its own data. It lets an admin managing a multi-module parallel UPS system distinguish system-wide totals from one module's individual readings. For example, in a 3-module parallel UPS system, upsTopoUnitNumber values of 1, 2, and 3 would each report that specific module's own metrics separately from the unit-0 system-wide view.
