Description: The current state of the Contact input; the value is based on the open/closed input state and the setting for UpsContactType. When entering the openWithNotice(3) and closedWithNotice(4) states, no entries added to the UpsAlarmTable, but the UpstdContactActiveNotice trap is sent.
What is upsContactState?
This enumerated value reports the current state of a contact input as open, closed, openWithNotice, or closedWithNotice, based on the physical open/closed reading combined with the configured upsContactType. The "withNotice" states mean a trap was sent for that transition without creating an entry in the alarm table. For example, a door contact configured as normallyClosed reporting openWithNotice(3) tells an admin the door was just opened and a notification trap was already sent.
