Description: The total heat load measured on the PDU in BTUs. A value of -1 will be returned if the heat load is unable to be measured.
What is pduOutputHeat?
This is the total heat load the PDU's output is generating, measured in BTUs, and it reads -1 when the device cannot compute a heat measurement. It gives an admin a thermal-load figure for capacity planning in the data center, since heat output roughly tracks the electrical load the PDU is delivering. For example, a monitoring dashboard might flag a PDU whose pduOutputHeat has been climbing over several weeks as newer equipment was added to that rack, signaling a cooling review is needed.
