Description: The fault tolerant state of this adapter. Although this value is valid for adapters that are not part of a fault tolerant group, it only provides additional information when the adapter participates in a group.
The following values are valid:
unknown(1) The fault tolerant state could not be determined. The instrument agent may need to be upgraded.
active(2) The adapter is actively participating in the network. This state is displayed for adapters that are not part of a fault tolerant group and for adapters in a fault tolerant group that are not in the standby state.
standby(3) The adapter is ready to assume network activity in case of a failure of the active adapter.
failed(4) The adapter has failed and cannot participate on the network.
What is cpqNicIfPhysAdapterState?
This read-only enumeration reports the fault-tolerant state, unknown, active, standby, or failed, of this adapter, providing meaningful extra detail specifically when the adapter participates in a team. An admin uses this to know whether a given physical NIC is currently passing traffic (active) or idle in reserve (standby) within its team. For example, seeing standby(3) on a physical adapter confirms it is the team's backup member and not currently carrying production traffic.
