cpqNicIfPhysAdapterIfNumber

Module: CPQNIC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQNIC-MIB::cpqNicIfPhysAdapterIfNumber

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.18.2.3.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: An OCTET STRING representing an array of MIB II Interface Numbers implemented by this physical adapter. Each entry is a 32-bit value, represented by 4 octets in LSB...MSB (Little-Endian) order.

There may be 0 or more Interface Numbers on a particular physical adapter, depending on the operating system's assignment of Interface Numbers. There is also an Interface Number field in the cpqNicIfLogMapTable which may contain one or more Interface Numbers. For logical adapters with one Physical Adapter, the same Interface Number(s) appear in both tables.

What is cpqNicIfPhysAdapterIfNumber?

This read-only OCTET STRING encodes an array of MIB-II interface numbers, each a 4-byte little-endian value, implemented by this physical adapter. An admin uses this to map the vendor-specific physical adapter entry to the standard OS-assigned interface numbers, mirroring the equivalent object on the logical adapter table. For example, decoding this reveals the exact interface number the operating system assigned to this one physical NIC, distinct from the team's combined logical interface numbers.
