cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq

Module: CPQCLUSTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQCLUSTER-MIB::cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.15.2.1.4.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The Insight Agent's polling frequency.

The frequency, in seconds, at which the Insight Agent requests information from the device driver. A frequency of zero (0) indicates that the Insight Agent retrieves the information upon request of a management station, it does not poll the device driver at a specific interval.

If the poll frequency is zero (0) all attempts to write to this object will fail. If the poll frequency is non-zero, setting this value will change the polling frequency of the Insight Agent. Setting the poll frequency to zero (0) will always fail, an agent may also choose to fail any request to change the poll frequency to a value that would severely impact system performance.

What is cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq?

This read-write integer (0-65535) sets how often, in seconds, the Insight Agent requests cluster information from the device driver; zero means it only fetches data on demand rather than polling at an interval. An admin adjusts this to trade off timeliness of cluster status against agent overhead on the node, and a write is rejected while the value is zero. To catch cluster failovers faster, an admin would set cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq to a small nonzero value on a business-critical cluster node.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.15.2.1.4.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CPQCLUSTER-MIB::cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.15.2.1.4.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CPQCLUSTER-MIB::cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.15.2.1.4.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cpqClusterOsCommonPollFreq.1
