Module: CPQAPPG80-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQAPPG80-MIB::cpqSMASubsystemEMUAlarm

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Subsystem Environmental Monitoring Unit Alarm.

Determines whether or not the audible alarm of the EMU will sound in the following cases: drive failure controller restart

The EMU alarm will still sound in the event of an adverse environmental condition, such as a power failure or an over-temperature condition.

What is cpqSMASubsystemEMUAlarm?

This object reports whether the EMU's audible alarm is configured as silent(1) or audible(2) for events like drive failure or controller restart, noting the alarm still sounds for environmental conditions like power failure regardless of this setting. An admin working in a quiet data center might deliberately set this to silent to avoid a physically loud alarm interrupting operations. Checking this value tells the admin whether a drive failure will produce an audible warning on-site or rely solely on SNMP monitoring for detection.
