Description: Battery check state.

Specifies whether the controller should perform regular battery condition checks. If CACHE_UPS (ups) the controller does not check the condition of the cache batteries and ignores the battery's state. If NOCACHE_UPS (noups) the controller performs regular cache battery checks and evaluates the condition of the cache batteries.

What is cpqSMAControllerBatteryCheckState?

This object reports whether the controller performs regular cache battery condition checks: ups(1) means it does not check or evaluate the battery's state, while noups(2) means it actively performs regular checks and evaluates battery condition. An admin relying on the battery-backed cache to protect data during a power outage would want this set to noups so battery health is actively monitored. Seeing it set to ups when battery protection is expected would prompt the admin to review the controller's battery configuration.
