OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2505.1.1.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-only

Description: Status of the redundant power supplies. Possible Values: Alert: Dual Power Supply: Redundant supply faulted

This indicates that, on systems with redundant power supplies, one of the power supplies is not working.

This trap can only be sent from systems which have redundant power supplies. The system will continue to run with only one power supply working. A new power supply must be obtained via an authorized Nortel representative as quickly as possible. This will help reduce the risk window of system failure in the event that the working power supply ceases to function.

What is dualPowerSupply?

dualPowerSupply is a DisplayString that alerts when one of a system's redundant power supplies is faulted, applicable only on platforms equipped with dual power supplies. Because the description notes the system keeps running on the remaining supply, an admin can treat this as a "replace soon, not an emergency" signal rather than an immediate outage. For example, "Alert: Dual Power Supply: Redundant supply faulted" should prompt the admin to order a replacement PSU through Nortel while the gateway continues operating on its surviving supply.
