satellitesVisible
Module: CMM3-MIB
OID (symbolic): CMM3-MIB::satellitesVisible
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.161.19.3.4.4.7
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: DisplayString
Access: read-only
Description: Number of satellites the GPS should see.
What is satellitesVisible?
This read-only DisplayString reports the number of GPS satellites the unit's receiver expects to be able to see given its location and almanac data. Comparing this expected count against satellitesTracked tells an admin whether the GPS antenna is receiving as well as it theoretically should. If satellitesVisible reports 8 but satellitesTracked stays much lower, an admin would suspect an antenna obstruction or cabling issue.
