vlanGlobalState

Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::vlanGlobalState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.9.1.20.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object disables or enables the VLAN feature. The configuration objects for the VLAN are in the vlanCMMTable.

The default setting for this object is disable(0).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any change to this object will revert back to its previous value if the change is not committed by setting the object vlanCommitState to executeCommit(3) within the number of minutes indicated in the object vlanCommitTimeout.

What is vlanGlobalState?

This read-write object enables or disables the VLAN feature chassis-wide, defaulting to disabled, with the important caveat that any change reverts to its previous value unless committed via vlanCommitState within a timeout window. An administrator enables this to activate VLAN segmentation configured in the vlanCMMTable, but must remember to commit the change or it silently reverts. For example, an admin enables VLAN globally and configures entries in vlanCMMTable, then must set vlanCommitState to executeCommit(3) before the timeout expires or the whole VLAN activation quietly rolls back.
