Description: Generate a test syslog packet. This will send a test syslog to all configured and enabled syslog collectors to assist in validating the configuration.
NOTE: Value returned for the GET command is meaningless for this MIB object.
What is syslogTestPacket?
This writable execute-only object sends a test syslog message to every currently configured and enabled syslog collector when set to execute(1), and reading it back is meaningless. It exists specifically to help an admin validate end-to-end syslog delivery, confirming network paths, firewall rules, and collector configuration are all correct, without waiting for a real event to occur. After adding a new syslog collector, an admin would trigger syslogTestPacket to confirm that collector actually receives chassis messages before relying on it in production.
