smTwoPortCfgSpeedSetting

Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::smTwoPortCfgSpeedSetting

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.22.3.2.2.2.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: Set the port speed using the data rate and duplex value. For examples: 100mf: 100Mbps in Half Duplex; 10gf: 10 Gbps in Full Duplex; auto: The working speed of the physical port can be tuned automatically.

NOTE: Only the speeds from smTwoPortCfgAvailSpeeds are applicable to setting this mib object.

What is smTwoPortCfgSpeedSetting?

This read-write string lets an admin manually force the data rate and duplex of a port on Switch Module 2, using short codes like '100mh' for 100 Mbps half duplex or 'auto' for automatic negotiation, and only values listed in the corresponding AvailSpeeds object are valid. It matters because mismatched speed/duplex settings between two ends of a link cause poor throughput or link failures. For example, an admin sets this object to '40gf' on a port of Switch Module 2 to force that specific rate instead of relying on auto-negotiation.
