serviceDataDumpInitiate

Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::serviceDataDumpInitiate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.23.3.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Initiates a type of dump collection to be initiated for the blade.

NOTE: Not all blades support this, please check serviceDataDumpCapabilityMask OID to see if the action is supported on this blade.

When the dump file is created, the node transfers it to the /tftproot/service directory on the CMM. Only one file can be moved to this directory at a time, so please use the fileManagement MIB information to check if the file has been completed.

NOTE: Value returned for the GET command is meaningless for this MIB object.

What is serviceDataDumpInitiate?

This object triggers a processor, platform, partition, or service-data dump collection for a specific blade, noting that not all blades support every dump type and that the resulting file is transferred to the CMM's tftproot/service directory one at a time. An admin troubleshooting a crashed or misbehaving blade sets this object to the appropriate dump type to capture diagnostic data for support. For example, an admin would set this to processorDump on a blade that just crashed, then use fileManagement to check when the file has finished moving to the CMM.
