reloadWwnGuidVpdData

Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::reloadWwnGuidVpdData

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.2.21.23.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Reload blade and I/O module WWN/GUID and other VPD data. NOTE: The value returned for the GET command is meaningless.

What is reloadWwnGuidVpdData?

This is a write-only INTEGER control: setting it to execute(1) tells the chassis management controller to re-read the blade and I/O module WWN/GUID and other VPD data fresh from the hardware's EEPROMs instead of serving its last cached copy, and the MIB notes that a GET of this object returns a meaningless value. An admin triggers this right after hot-swapping a card whose VPD table entries still show stale or blank data, avoiding the need for a full management-module reboot to pick up the change. For example, after swapping a blade's storage expansion card, an admin sets reloadWwnGuidVpdData to execute(1) so the bladeAndExpCardWwnGuidVpd values reflect the new card's WWNs before SAN zoning is reconfigured.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.2.21.23.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CME-MIB::reloadWwnGuidVpdData

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.2.21.23.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CME-MIB::reloadWwnGuidVpdData.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.2.21.23.5.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> reloadWwnGuidVpdData.1
