groupRBSSwitchModuleAdministration

Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::groupRBSSwitchModuleAdministration

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.1.7.2.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Group can power on/off and restart the I/O Modules, update I/O Module firmware, enable/disable the Fast POST and External Ports of an I/O Module. Note that a group requires both I/O Module configuration and I/O Module administration roles in order to be able to launch a telnet session to an I/O Module, or to restore factory defaults on an I/O Module.

What is groupRBSSwitchModuleAdministration?

This read-write integer, disabled(0) or enabled(1), when enabled lets the group power I/O modules on and off and restart them, update their firmware, and enable or disable Fast POST and External Ports, with telnet access and factory-default restores requiring both this and switch module configuration rights together. An admin grants this to a network operations group responsible for firmware upgrades and disruptive maintenance on switch modules. For example, a group holding both groupRBSSwitchModuleAdministration and groupRBSSwitchModuleConfiguration could restore an I/O module to factory defaults, which neither permission alone would allow.
