extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress
Module: CME-MIB
OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.9.1.4.5.2.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InetAddressIPv6
Access: read-write
Description: The IPv6 floating IP address for the external ethernet interface.
NOTE: If extEthernetInterfaceIPv6Enabled is currently disabled, this object has the value '0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0'.
What is extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress?
This read-write object holds the IPv6 floating address for the external ethernet interface, which reads as all zeros if IPv6 is disabled, mirroring the IPv4 floating address's role of moving between active and standby management modules. An administrator sets this so IPv6 management traffic keeps reaching whichever MM is currently active after a failover. For example, an admin points IPv6-based monitoring tools at this floating address so IPv6 connectivity survives a management module failover.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.9.1.4.5.2.5 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CME-MIB::extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.9.1.4.5.2.5.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CME-MIB::extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.4.9.1.4.5.2.5.1 s <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> extEthernetInterfaceIPv6LinkFloatingAddress.1
