Module: CME-MIB
OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::configurationBladePendingBootMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.22.1.7.1.1.8

Description: Indicates the copy of the firmware from which the blade will boot after the next reboot. NOTE: Some blades do not support the automatic boot recovery. It displays 'notApplicable' for such blades and the value can not be set. Booting from the temporary copy is recommended since it typically contains the latest enhancements and fixes. Switching to the permanent copy should be reserved for when booting from the temporary copy is no longer possible.
What is configurationBladePendingBootMode?
This writable enum sets which firmware copy, temporary or permanent, a blade will boot from after its next reboot, showing and refusing to accept a set on notApplicable blades; the recommendation is to stay on temporary unless it's proven unreliable, in which case switching to permanent is a fallback. It matters as the mechanism an admin uses to roll a blade back to a known-good firmware copy if a new (temporary) update turns out to be problematic. An admin who suspects a firmware update caused instability would set configurationBladePendingBootMode to permanent(2) and reboot to fall back to the older, presumably stable copy.
