Description: An indicator as to whether a component dump is in progress for the specified component. This object ONLY applies to dumps that can be triggered by the MM and where the dump file is transferred to the MM filesystem upon completion. See the componentServiceDataDumpCapabilityMask object for support levels. The flag that this MIB object represents will be set on when the IPMI command is sent to the component indicating 'init dump' and will be cleared upon receiving the valid dump file from the component or the creation of the text file indicating the problem encountered. If it cannot be determined if the dump is in progress, the unknown(255) value is returned.
What is componentServiceDataDumpInProgress?
This object indicates whether a component dump is currently in progress, not in progress, or unknown, applying only to dumps triggered by the MM and transferred to its filesystem, and is set based on the IPMI init dump command sent to the component. An admin waiting on a triggered dump uses this flag to know when the operation has finished before attempting to retrieve the resulting file. For example, an admin would poll this object until it reports notInProgress before assuming a triggered dump is ready to be pulled off the component.
