Module: CME-MIB
OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::chassisFPsInstalled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.22.4.37
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-only
Description: This object is deprecated because the power modules' fan packs are integrated into the power modules and are not removable as on previous power modules.
The fan packs that are installed on the chassis. The fan packs are listed as a bitmap. The bitmap is a string containing a list of 1's and 0's that is as long as the number of fan packs supported. If a fan pack is installed in a bay, a 1 is present in the string in the position representing the bay ID as read from left to right. For example, if fan packs are installed in bays 1 and 3, and 4 fan packs are supported, the string would look like '1010'.
NOTE: Fan packs are also referred to as Power Module Cooling Devices.
What is chassisFPsInstalled?
This deprecated read-only bitmap string reports which fan-pack bays on the chassis currently have a fan pack installed, since newer chassis integrate cooling directly into the power modules instead of using separate removable fan packs. It exists for legacy compatibility with older chassis generations that used discrete fan packs. For example, on an older chassis this bitmap might show a 1 in the first position, indicating a fan pack occupies bay 1 among the fan packs supported.
