Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::bladeManagementCardVpdHardwareRevision

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.2.21.4.8.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Blade management card VPD hardware revision. For consistent results, view as a table and not as individual entries. If a hardware revision is programmed in the OEM VPD area for this component, then the HardwareRevisionString version of this MIB object should be used.

What is bladeManagementCardVpdHardwareRevision?

This INTEGER is the numeric hardware revision level recorded for the blade's own local management/service-processor card, falling back to the string-format HardwareRevisionString object whenever the OEM has programmed a revision into that string field instead. An admin polls this quick numeric value first when scripting a fleet-wide revision check, only decoding the string object if this one turns out to be unprogrammed or ambiguous. For example, an admin checks bladeManagementCardVpdHardwareRevision to see whether a blade's service processor is new enough to support a management feature added in a later revision.
