Module: CME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CME-MIB::activityLogAttribute

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.51.2.23.4.5.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: A string of data detailing one Activity Log entry's attribute. Status PENDING indicates that the system is preparing for the event to be called home by collecting data about the systems state. A SUCCESS state indicates that the problem was successfully transmitted to FTP/TFTP Server. The FAILED state indicates that the attempt to transmit the event information was not successful. Additional information may be found in the Event Log. The event ID, event source , date and time are all information from the original entry in the event log. The acknowledged as corrected field is a reminder to certain events to indicate their awareness of the issue.

What is activityLogAttribute?

This object holds status attribute text for an Activity Log entry, describing whether an associated call-home report is PENDING, was a SUCCESS in reaching the FTP/TFTP server, or FAILED to transmit. An admin verifying that automated problem reports are actually reaching the external server checks this attribute to catch silent transmission failures. For example, an admin seeing FAILED here for a recent event would check network connectivity to the configured autoFTPCallAddr rather than assuming the report succeeded.
