Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Description: This object allows the user to specify the IP interface name when cmIpSourceAddressType is 'systemipaddr'. The IP Address associated with the IP interface name is set as the source IP Address in outgoing PDUs.

What is cmIpSourceAddressInterfaceName?

This read-write object names the IP interface whose address becomes the source IP address of outgoing PDUs when cmIpSourceAddressType is set to systemipaddr, per the description. Admins use this to pin down exactly which interface's address the device presents as its source when generating traffic like traps or syslog, which affects how downstream systems attribute that traffic. For example, an admin wanting all outgoing SNMP/syslog packets to appear to originate from a specific management interface would set this object to that interface's name.
