Description: This object allows user to initiate ICMP Ping on cmIpPingDestination.
What is cmIpInitiatePingAction?
This read-write action object, when set, tells the device to actually send an ICMP ping toward the address previously configured in cmIpPingDestination. It gives admins a way to run connectivity tests directly from the managed device's own network vantage point via SNMP, without needing shell access. For example, to verify a device can reach its default gateway, an admin sets cmIpPingDestination to the gateway address and then sets this action object to trigger the ping test.
