Description: On some condition, user wishes to make one card out of service and hold the reset signal of the card via AMI. When force offline is enabled, reset signal is held; When force offline is disabled, reset signal is released.

What is ethernetSWFCardForceOffLineAction?

This read-write TruthValue lets an administrator force the Ethernet SWF card out of service and hold its hardware reset signal via AMI, rather than just changing its administrative state. Enabling it keeps the card held in reset so it cannot attempt to restart on its own, and disabling it releases the reset signal so the card can come back up. For example, a technician about to physically pull a suspect Ethernet SWF card would enable force-offline first to hold it in reset, then disable it again once the replacement card is seated and ready to boot.
