Module: CM-ENTITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-ENTITY-MIB::ethernetNTEXG120PROCardFineGrainedPmInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.3.1.81.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CmPmIntervalType

Access: read-write

Description: Allows specification of the fine-grained PM interval at the card level. This applies to all monitored PM entities. The default value of this attribute is interval-15min. Valid values are interval-5min and interval-15min. interval-1day and rollover are not considered fine-grained intervals.

What is ethernetNTEXG120PROCardFineGrainedPmInterval?

This read-write CmPmIntervalType selects the fine-grained performance-monitoring bucket length, either 5 or 15 minutes, applied to all PM entities monitored at the Ethernet NTE XG120PRO Card level, defaulting to 15 minutes. It matters because shortening the interval to 5 minutes on the Ethernet NTE XG120PRO Card gives an administrator finer-grained visibility into short-lived error bursts that a 15-minute bucket, or the coarser 1-day/rollover counters, would smear out. For example, when troubleshooting intermittent errors on the Ethernet NTE XG120PRO Card, an engineer sets this object to interval-5min to capture more granular PM statistics during the investigation window, then reverts it to interval-15min afterward.
