Module: CM-ENTITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-ENTITY-MIB::ethernetNTEGESyncProbeCardSnmpDyingGaspEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.3.1.40.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Whether or not SNMP dying gasp is enabled on the Ethernet NTE GE SyncProbe Card.

What is ethernetNTEGESyncProbeCardSnmpDyingGaspEnabled?

This read-write TruthValue toggles whether the Ethernet NTE GE SyncProbe Card sends an SNMP dying-gasp notification — a trap fired using residual power at the moment of a power loss — when it unexpectedly loses power. Admins enable this so a sudden power loss on the Ethernet NTE GE SyncProbe Card still generates an alert instead of the card just silently dropping off the network, which is what lets a NOC tell a power outage apart from, say, a planned card removal. A field team deploying the Ethernet NTE GE SyncProbe Card at a remote, unstaffed site would set this object to true so a power interruption there is reported immediately rather than only discovered on the next scheduled visit.
